Description:
Aloha from the beautiful Hawaiian Islands. Where the green is green and the blue is blue. A place where generations of different cultures have blended together with the traditional Hawaiian lifestyle and tropical environment to produce not only a paradise found but also a paradise of sound.
So check Hawaii out and see what's it all about. Experience the enchanting hot lava of the volcano "Kilauea", the haunting cold snows of the great mountain "Mauna Kea", the awesome giant surf at "Waimea" Bay and the soothing to rocking sounds of music made in Hawaii by the "Mainkaukau". Woo Hoo!
Why this name?
The word "Main" as defined by Webster's dictionary means, "Being most important". The word "Kaukau" in the Hawaiian language could mean "Ready". As Hawaii went through it's cultural changes, the perception of many Hawaiian words changed due to the introduction of foreign languages. The word "Kaukau" became associate with food because when a meal was ready to eat, people would shout out "the food Ready!" or "Kaukau!" Much like the Hawaiian word "Luau", "Luau" does not mean "Party". The word "Luau" became associated with the word "Party" because of the high volume of "Taro" Leaves or "Luau" leaves used in the preparation and ingredients of the food found at the party. Funny how those things happen, yeah? In my case, The Mainkaukau was meant to mean "The Main food". The main food at the music "Luau" (Party).
