Description:
"explodingface" is local band to Hawaii and has been together for 4 years now. They just released their first album titled, "BANG" in March, 2006. They recorded with independent producer Ralph Stover in Sacramento, California. They were blessed to have the talents of former 77's singer/guitarist Mike Roe and drummer, Bruce Spencer on the album. explodingface is a father daughter combo where Christian rock's legend guitarist, Stephen Anthony Laudise, meets hot new pop vocalist, Holly Lewis.
Stephen Anthony Laudise originates from Kailua, Hawaii and has been playing guitar and recording music for over 30 years. From songwriting to "ripping on guitar," Stephen has played in huge venues all over the world. Among some of them are: Hawaiiâ??s Aloha Stadium, The Waikiki Shell, England's Cross Rhythms Music Festival, Fiji, Japan, and all over Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany. Holly Lewis originally joined Stephen in a band called "The Boys Home" as his backround vocalist 4 years ago, and eventually became the lead singer of what is now alled, "explodingface."
Holly Lewis also from Kailua, Hawaii has been studying voice with well known voice guru, Betty Grierson for four years now. She is a member of the Hawaii Opera Theater's Womens Chorus and "BANG" is her debut album. She began singing in Hope Chapel Kailua's worship band 5 years ago, and has been pursuing singing ever since.
The primary goal of explodingface is to travel around the world and bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to people through heart-felt music. Holly replied, "We want to reach out to the lost because those are the people who are hurting the most." Although they minister in music for various churches statewide, Holly explained, "We don't exist to simply entertain Christians, that would not make sense." They are encouraged on the positive feedback they've been receiving on the new album and are looking forward to what God has for them in the future.
explodingface recently played for a music festival in Berlin, Germany July, 2006 called, "Calling All Nations" which was held in Berlin's Olympic Stadium. They were the house band prior to the festival. This upcoming year, they will be hitting all the local churches in Hawaii and from there, will be doing a tour in California and moving towards the east coast in 2007.
